Various types of existent wheelchair in an adapted sport cannot adapt completely for the only one arm or event using racket represented by wheelchair tennis. We developed the sport-typed and double-rings-typed wheelchair which can drive straight on ahead by one-hand operation. The purpose of this study was to evaluate relationship between travel resistance and driving performance in this wheelchair in order to obtain a measure of further driving performance evaluation for the practical application of the wheelchair. In experiment with to evaluate driving performance, it was measured EMG and traction force when subjects drove the wheelchair only one stroke by the use both-hand operation and one-hand operation at the load and no load. Therefore, driving performance of one-hand operation was not a low given that it was a drive method that operates two handrims. However, only a part of agonist was taken a great deal of strain by one-hand operation.
