In Japan, the current childcare environment has diversified due to the increasing number of nuclear families and working women, and support is required considering the mental stress experienced by mothers. In this study, we conducted a survey on mental stress in 124 mothers raising children, and statistically analyzed the results to clarify the differences in mental stress between working mothers and non-working mothers, and the associated factors. In addition, we conducted an occupational stress test on working mothers and found that mental stress differs according to employment status and the presence or absence of personal support. Furthermore, by using the results of the analysis, we also discuss the types of support needed, depending on stress factors.
