Basic Research on Subjective Posture Evaluation Using Photographic Images

Masumi SHINGAI, Akihiko MURAYAMA, and Shinji MUKAI

In this research, a questionnaire survey was conducted with 196 college students on their subjective assessment of postures. We will call this gsubjective postureh. The purpose of this study was to construct a system for evaluating subjective postures using photo images. Participants were asked to evaluate subjective postures and posture using photographs with a positional relation of center of gravity line with respect to index points. From the results, many participants thought that the subjective postures were bad. In the side sitting position, the proportion was high. When looking at photographs, there were many who responded that the postures are close to the stoop posture. Posture alignment proved that the chest and back regions are behind the center of gravity line. In the future, we will compare subjective and objective postures, and see if they are good or bad using quantitative data.
