Skin tissue is consolidated by the sustained pressure exerted, then the supply of nutrients required to maintain the living tissue to the blood flow is inhibited stagnates.
In order to clarify the physical factors to cause damage of the skin tissue, the authors performed the mathematical analysis as an advection-diffusion problem the relationship between the amount of oxygen consumed by the metabolism of the cells and amount of oxygen supply of blood transported to the tissue. The main results were as follows;
1) The area where oxygen is supplied sufficiently found to be estimated by the equation 15.
2) Oxygen consumption rate in the non-load was 0.251mmHg/s. In addition, the rate was reduced to 0.193mmHg/s, when pressurized with 2.67×103Pa.
3) Blood flow velocity of the skin tissue was approx. 2mm/s, but it was reduced to 1.3-1.5mm/s, when the tissue was pressurized at 4.00×103Pa.
