Bowel sound (BS) is a biological audio signal stemming from peristaltic activities of an intestine. Bowel sound is mainly used for diagnoses of ileus, ascites and constipation of immobile patients. However we empirically know that activity of our intestine varies from day to day depending on our physical condition even though we have no disease. So we aim at utilizing bowel sound analysis not only for them but also for a health examination of children, young, middle-aged and elderly people other than patients. Although the objective requires long-term stable recording of bowel sound, the bowel wound recording system developed in our previous work is inadequate for the use because the old system is weak at subject's movements and forces subjects to endure being motionless for a long-term continuous recording.
We report the development of a new BS recording system which allows robust and high-accuracy recording of BS.
