Effect of Negative Air Ions for Temporal Change of Lactic Acid Concentration in Blood after High-Intense Loading Motion

The effect of negative air ions for a fatigue recovery after a high-intense loading motion was investigated experimentally.   800m and 400m maximum effort runs were selected as the loading motion.   Temporal changes of lactic acid concentration in blood, heart rate, blood pressure, and RPE (Rating of Perceived Exertion) were measured after the loading motions under exposure and unexposure conditions of the negative air ions, respectively.   As the results, lactic acid concentration and heart rate of exposure conditions were lower than that of the unexposure conditions in most of the recovery time.   Furthermore, in order to clarify the effects of negative air ions, statistical processing, Wilcoxonfs signed ranks test, was carried out to the obtained data.   As for the lactic acid concentration and heart rate, statistical significance was obtained at several recovery times.

Key Words : Negative Air Ions, Lactic Acid
