World War II. displaced Japanese children. They were left without support. The Fransciscans of St. Martyr George took care of them in Aomori City. German Sister Seraphine helped at that time. She did her best for them. This convent was founded in 1869 by sister Pop in Germany. She devoted her life to service to the children and patients. She deeply respected St. Francis. In spite of his poverty, he was pure and obedient. He helped men, who were in difficult situations.
The Franciscans of St. Martyr George devoted themselves to the poor children. They were modest, the salt of the earth and the light of the world.
