I have made a rehabilitation for the patient of brachy-phasia by using the approaches of music therapy for nine years. I have recognized that music therapy was very effective as an approach of speech rehabilitation. In this study we first discussed the signification of music therapy as a rehabilitation approach. Second, the background knowledges of motor aphasia was explained in terms of medical approaches. Third, the seven steps for the patients to regain their communicative abilities were suggested as concrete processes of music therapy. In these steps, how music and words should be presented to the patient was described. Finally, the author suggested that music therapy as rehabilitation approaches should be enjoyable ones to the patient and should cultivate their new motor abilities instead of regaining their damaged motor functions.
